Alley Cats
When I was a sophomore in college, I knew these two guys, both seniors, who lived off campus in a cheap apartment in a slimey part of town. I would stop by for a visit a couple of times a week (these were two of the most bizarre people I've ever known).
Anyway, they were always complaining about the local alley cats. Dozens of them would come by at night and make all kinds of racket, keeping them awake. Finally, they devised a plan to rid themselves of this evil...
I stopped by one evening. As I walked up the steps, I noticed a huge sheet of tin foil on the landing. In the middle of the tin foil was a bowl of milk. There was a wire connected to the tin foil and a wire sticking in the bowl of milk. Both wires went into a nearby window. When I went inside, I noticed that both wires were plugged into a wall outlet! Then my friends happily displayed their "trophies." Mounted on the wall were several sheets of tin foil, each one with four little paw-print burn mark holes in them.
They claimed that they didn't find any dead cats. They would only hear the incredible screech and find the tin foil burned in this manner. Within a matter of days, they didn't have the cat problem any longer.
